DSNA-20 & SHEL-9

5-7 June 2015, UBC Vancouver

We strongly recommend booking your accommodation as early as possible. Vacancy during the time of the conference is expected to be particularly limited, as Vancouver will be hosting FIFA’s Women World Cup from June 6th to July 5th, 2015. Please note that the conference contingents of rooms is reserved on a first come, first served basis.

We recommend two options for accommodation, one on-campus and one off-campus:

On-campus: Walter Gage Residence (UBC)

This is our primary recommendation, as the meeting rooms, reception and banquet are only a short walk away. There are three unit options:

Gage Premium Single: Private bedroom with a single bed and telephone in a four-bedroom shared apartment. Guests share a washroom, lounge with flat-panel TV, breakfast bar and kitchen (not equipped with dishes, cooking utensils, etc.). Complimentary coffee service provided. Breakfast included. $56 + tax/night.

* For this option, select tab "Budget Rooms in Shared Apts." on the booking site

Gage Studio Suite: Suite with double bed, private washroom, sitting area with telephone and flat-panel TV, fully-equipped kitchen and complimentary coffee service. Maximum 2 guests per suite. Breakfast included. $135 + tax/night.

Gage One-Bedroom Suite: Suite with queen bed in bedroom, queen sofa bed in living room and private washroom. Features include telephone, flat-panel TV, fully-equipped kitchen and complimentary coffee service. Breakfast included. $145 + tax/night.

How to book:

Off-campus: Sylvia Hotel (Downtown vancouver)

For those wishing to stay in the downtown area, we reserved a room block at the Sylvia Hotel at approximately $159 + tax, per room. This reservation will be held until May 4th, under the reservation code: “UBC Language”. $159 + tax (single/double occupancy).

Off-campus: HI-Vancouver Youth Hostel (Downtown Vancouver)

A good budget option, for the students wishing to explore Downtown Vancouver, is the HI-Vancouver Youth Hostel on Burnaby Street at approximately $35 to $45/night. The commute from Downtown Vancouver to UBC by bus is between 45 and 60 minutes travel time.
